Hello! We are Jack & Jill.

About us

We are an English Medium Pre-School that focuses on play and theme based learning.

We welcome children ranging from 1 to 5 years old.

Jack and Jill Nursery School strives to be inspirational, creative and a safe space for children. Every little being is loved and valued here. We embrace differences in our happy little space..

Children who learn in a positive environment become independent, responsible and respectful world citizens. We place high value on nurturing curious and confident communicators that have a positive attitude towards learning. We create stimulating challenges that develop the whole child. Socially, emotionally, physically and intellectually.

We love each and every one of the children that attend Jack and Jill Nursery School. We strive to develop each individual to their full potential.

Dancing Ducklings

“Group 4"

4 year olds

Here we begin our school readiness program, which will continue into Group 5. Our goal is to prepare children for a smooth transition to ‘Big School’.

Busy Bees

“Group 3"

3 year olds

Here we start encouraging more independence. Children are guided to make choices, develop routines, and build confidence in their abilities.

Bush Babies

“Group 1"

1 - 2 year olds

A nurturing environment where they can explore and learn at their own pace through hands-on, play-focused activities.

Bouncing Bunnies

“Group 2"

2.5 year olds

We build on early developmental milestones by blending play with guided learning.

Clever Cats

“Group 5"

5 year olds

Dedicated to school readiness, preparing each child to confidently approach their ‘Big School’ assessments.

Half Day

This includes a nutritious lunch served at 12:00.

Full Day

Our Aftercare Program Includes lunch, an afternoon nap and afternoon tea as well as a range of daily activities.

Jack & Jill was established by Mrs Hilversum out of her garage on Phiri Crescent.

The school was taken over by Coleen Smith.

Iris Riggs bought Jack & Jill and is still the current Head Mistress.

The current premises was specifically built in Phase 2 and completed in September 1992.

Communication

At Jack and Jill, communication is key to fostering a supportive and connected community.

We utilize WhatsApp groups as our primary mode of communication, ensuring that parents stay informed and engaged. Each class has its own dedicated WhatsApp group, allowing for seamless updates and sharing of important information.

For matters regarding school fees we rely on email to ensure clarity and efficiency.

Through these channels, we aim to maintain open lines of communication, enabling parents to stay involved and informed every step of the way.

Optional Extra Activities

We offer a variety of optional extra activities.

While these activities are not directly operated by the school, they are carefully selected to provide children with opportunities for further enrichment and development.

Participation in these activities is entirely optional, allowing families to tailor their child's preschool experience according to their interests and preferences.

Teaching and Learning

Our teachers are dedicated, qualified and first-aid trained. We pride ourselves in having a very low staff turnover.

All teachers follow timetables prepared by management every week. The weekly timetables are a comprehensive progression of activities

and lessons which will eventually lead your

child to confidently complete their “Big School”

Assessments.

At the end of each term you will receive a Progress Report for your child, detailing all their developmental achievements and progression over the term. We hold our Parent-Teacher Consultations in Term 1, where parent’s are invited to chat to their child’s teacher and view their work.
